Maiden of Dawn

Maiden of Dawn

A Poem by Chayu Damsinghe
"

A poem metaphorically describing the beauty of the dawn. However this metaphorical representatio is a metaphor in itself, since the dawn here metaphorically alludes to a young woman, and how I see her

"
With night's dusk, the world awake,
The light of stars, now retake.
No more they dream, no more they sleep,
From tender touch, the new green weep.

And soft new light, her eye's glow,
Her warm glee spreads, soothing, slow.
With gentle smile, and fingers warm,
With joyous frisk, the young day roam.

And with her gait, the world refresh,
Her singing warm, music's thresh'.
The tender heat, laughter free,
At her glance, shadow flee.

The morning's light, and melody's ray,
Life she gives, to all that lay.
With fire kissed, her hair's glow,
To earth, her life and glee, flow.

With light's bloom, and warmth tall,
Heaven's princess, the earth her hall.
Young day's eye, morning's fawn,
Child of sky, maiden of dawn.

Author's Note

Chayu Damsinghe
So there may be errors in the grammar, but this is completely intentional. For example, line 4 alludes to "the new green weep", which is done to rhyme weeps with sleep. A
Also, the word "thresh' " in line ten is supposed to be a shortening of the word threshold, and not threshing.
