Locked In

Locked In

A Story by rcat

It's interesting the people that surround you.
The only thing to do is observe, to people watch as they say.
They are free from their cloaks of what they wish people to see.
Hair is flat. No makeup. Drab garments. This is people as they are.
Who is happy or sad.
Who is alone.
Who walks constantly with friends of their own making.
Who laughs who cries.
Who is approachable.
Of who must you stay away.
Who sulks.
Who finds joy in dispair.
Everything is stripped down.
All that exists are shreds of humanity.
This is what it is to be emotionally sick.
This it what it is to be locked in.

Author's Note

rcat
I recently dealt with a period of acute Depression and had a bit of a hospital stay. For the most part there is nothing to do but sit and stare at people all day. It is interesting to watch people - especially in such an atmosphere of things being so abnormal they reach as sense of normalcy. There is no ability to put on a mask to disguise one's appearance. Instead, you see what are the truths about people. There is a sense of comfort in this that I have never since experienced.

About
I've admittedly never written before coming here. I just find myself now with the time - and plenty of experiences. Writing only seemed the right thing to do. Thankyou dear boy friend for encouraging .. more..
