Drop a line.

Drop a line.

A Poem by M. M. Lovar

Maybe, I was a fool to think I'd ever get you.
Maybe, I just pressed my luck, allowing my mind to run amuck.
Delusions overtook my thoughts,
providing dreams with hopeful lust.
Now I can admit,
I'm the one to omit.
Maybe, it was senseless to see good in the skewed,
to take things deeper than you knew.
Well, you've always been an open book,
but you scrawl lyrics, don't you?
So, I'll condemn myself for interpreting every hook,
as an invitation to your soul.
Your silly way never caught the bait.
Words without meaning feel so decimal.
You're talented to a point,
but nothing was about the heart,
just a sweet talker playing the part.
This was never what I thought..
