Easter MorningA Poem by chasetMy grand father wrote this poem and i absolutely love it!
The c**k crowed twice
before dawn was drawn. Jesus turned his head- Peter's face grew long. He remembered those words; he had rejected them strong. Now they rang true and Peter was wrong. his heart sunk low for he had denied his Lord, just hours before as Jesus foretold. Death came quickly for Christ that day. His legs not broken in the usual way. Blood gushed forth from his side they pierced. The sun stood still as the Lord of Lords was killed. The Son of Man died that day. "He was the Son of God", a guard was heard to say. They took him down, the cross now bare. His body lay in a tomb somewhere. Only three days later His body- wasn't - there. Just three days later and the grave - lay- bare. The risen Lord forever He will be! The Triumphant King throughout eternity. -William Thrasher jr. © 2011 chaset |
