Be the Good in the World

No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. If we don’t try, then what’s the point?

There is no way you can be someone you are not, but who you are is the best you anyone can be.

With life comes the ability to choose. With the ability to choose comes responsibility. And without responsibility society collapses.

We judge others based on our own insecurities. And those who are different tend to be judged more frequently and more harshly. If each accepted who she/he is, then it would be easier to accept others with their differences. If everyone chose to be themselves then there would be peace. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others.

Just try to be the best "you" you can be!

Forget about being "cool” or “popular.” Just be yourself. Conversely, don't call someone "ugly" or "stupid." Instead, encourage them to be the best they can be.

Words are more powerful than bullets. While the latter kill the body, the former deaden the spirit. And while the body is temporary, the spirit is forever…

So, share a smile and say an uplifting word. Be the torchlight that lights the darkness around you. Be the good in the world!

Yes, this piece brings up a good point. That people have died for being called "ugly"? That's unacceptable. Too many people do not understand that one person's concept of beauty may simply not be another's concept of beauty. Superficially, one who has an outward appearance another deems 'ugly' could be viewed as 'beautiful' by a third. Deeper, one who has an 'undesirable' outward appearance could have an inward appearance that trumps their verbal assaulter's by a long shot! And even further into this abyss of reasons for bad name-calling, for someone to verbally assault someone with the name 'ugly' or worse, they must have their own insecurities, which they feel they need to take out on others.

I have often wondered this myself. What if everyone was who they really are? Sure, those who deserve so would be treated with respect. But the ones who call people 'ugly' or worse, and actually mean it, they would not be in a good place. Which rises the question: is it *fear* that makes them act this way, concealing their identities and attacking people around them in order to create the illusion of superiority? Perhaps they feel the need to knock down the skyscrapers around them in order to make their own towers *seem* tall.

One day, when, and if ever, they wisen up enough to see clearly, regret will overcome.

In this fight against the bad in this world, I suppose I can be your ally! Haha.

:)) Thanks! I could use an ally Haha! But seriously, I hate when other people judge others just because how they look or how they act. Everyone has something beautiful deep inside! No matter how you look or how you act, I was bulled all my life because I twitch when I get nervous so kids would purposely try to get me nervous.
I forgive them for what they did, but all the pain and suffering they made me feel, just put in my mind why in the world would I ever want to do something like that to someone else? It would just be better to make others feel good and included.

Yeah, I hate it too. This judgement people pass upon each other... Just...no. I used to be bullied a bit myself because of how I acted. Just because I was a free spirit and did whatever I wanted, the "mean girls" questioned my orientation and spread rumors. I mean, what? No, that's not an orientation thing, that's a "me" thing, haha. But I won't forget the day they were teasing me and I just laughed in their faces. Never again was I picked on.

It's great that you found forgiveness for them. Even though they wronged you, you helped make the world a better place. I bet you're braver than all of them. Keep up the good work!
