Plea of a seaman's girlfriendA Poem by charmelPlea of a seaman's girlfriendI
can see the ship you’ve boarded It’s
engine warns me it’ll soon leave Teary
eyes, I’m here alone “Make
him stay, “to God I prayed.
Yet,
there it goes, sailing away. Waves
part as it make way Bit
by bit, the ship becomes smaller to my sight Lo!
It’s gone as it turns right.
I
gaze at the wide sea, I
cried and made a plea, To
the water nymphs I cried, To
take me to you at any tide.
