My best friend won't speak to me.A Poem by Charlie RoswellMy best friend won’t
speak to me, Won’t say a single
word, When I speak she tilts
her head, Then pretend that
she’s not heard, I took her out for
lunch, In hope, to lift her
mood, But she wouldn’t even
look at me, And didn’t touch her
food, I tried to reason with
her, I begged, down on my
knees, But still she remained
silent, She’s just so hard to
please, This morning I rose
early, I would talk to her
once more, My sermon she would
heed, I couldn’t find her
downstairs, Upstairs was empty
too, But then I found her
gardening I took this as my cue, I begged her to
forgive me, To be my friend once
more, She jumped up to
attention, What am I in for, But she bounded over
to me, Is that a smile upon
her face? She covered my face
with kisses, Invaded my personal
space, She still won’t ever
speak to me, But on my lap she
slept, I suppose she is still
a puppy, And this I must
accept. © 2012 Charlie RoswellReviews
