Moment

Moment

A Poem by Charlie B.

I saw you on the other side
But I just let the moment slide
Because I was scared and I am shy
I wished I was able to greet you "Hi"

Many months had passed
I never thought you'd ever ask
My name and how I've been
Since this idea was just a dream

You said you want me to be your friend
And I happily said "yes!"
Finally, that had happened
I did my best to make you impress

One night, you told me that you like me
I was surprised and stunned for words
We talked for hours and said goodnight
Definitely, one of the happiest days of my life

But now, things have absolutely changed
No more deep thoughts are exchanged
And so I have realized my priorities
Which is to focus on my studies

I informed you of that thought
And you said it was all right
For you have already liked someone else
And she makes your life bright

Good luck were my words to you
I hope your feelings would go strong
Don't you ever let her go
Maybe with her is where you belong

Many months have passed
I never thought it was now all in the past
All the memories will not rust
In my heart and mind, it shall all last

Once again, I saw you on the other side
Never would I let this moment slide
I am now confident and very happy
I can finally bid goodbye

I've been in situations where I've made friends that needed so much more than I could give them. I had to say goodbye so I could focus on my own life, because I simply didn't have the time to talk to or hang out with them everyday. This reminds me of these friends, and having to say goodbye so that they can make other friends who are better for them.
Thanks for sharing. :)
