hurt people, hurt people

hurt people, hurt people

A Poem by Charles
"

those who've been harmed, do harm to others...

"
The deepest of wounds
  are injuries to the soul.
A hidden crevasse
  in the dark and cold.

Such scars cannot heal
  in an inconspicuous place.
They fester and spread
  and become hard to face.

The nagging of bitterness
  turns pain inside out.
A callow resentment's born
  that the vain will flout.

Then ire becomes infectious
as it is spread to the meek.
A pitiable cycle's renewed
and the newly hurt will wreak.

I've seen many people do exactly what you wrote. It's very sad to see them become shells of their former selves.

How very true..........the hurt people who carry their pain and bitterness can cause such pain for others. But there again some scars cannot heal until the hurt is released. Strong poem, with a wisdom only known by someone who has been hurt.

No matter how "good" we want to be, it can't be done until we face our biggest fear....ourselves....good honest write...

you fleshed a human tale around her words expertly~ bitterness eventually becomes our own personal noose~and yes~too often we string up many along with us~

Oh so true...and it's so hard, but not impossible, to break the cycle.

So very well written.

A very fine piece this is. (Ya gotta love Oprah) You've done much justice to the words and have me doing some soul searching today. Thank you.
