Sinful Senryu

Sinful Senryu

A Poem by Charles
"

Can you tell which is which?

"
The heat and the haze
Combine to rile and confuse
No sense is common

A bird in the hand
Is more than two in the bush
But still is worth less

The hot and heavy
Pull us to the point of yen
Soft and hard contact

All of my greatness
Is found within and without
Because you see it

Give me all you have
Because I deserve it more
You are not worthy

The Lazy-Boy calls
The TV hypnotizes
We melt into one

Enough is no good
Past that point is where it's at
Satisfaction wins

This senryu is rife with so much pondering and observation of human acts. I love the ironic twists and turns. Your talent overwhelms me.

I really like this one. It has great rhythm and the subtleties of your word choice are very appropriate. :) It's masterfully done!

You don't know how many times I've wanted to use a bird in the hand for a senryu and you managed to make one. I absolutely love this whole twisted string.
