Haiku / Senru

Haiku / Senru

A Poem by Charles
"

Just giving this a try

"
The squirrel ate nuts
A cat looked, hungrily
And purred, as well.

A wooden swing bench
Became home to bumblebees.
I sit there no more.

My dogs sit sullen.
The sun bears down upon them.
I long for a breeze.

The gecko sat still,
And I watched him breathe.
Small balloon belly.

I looked with awe.
The hummingbird flies swiftly,
And silently, too.

The branches in fall
Reach up to the stars at night.
A grasp I long for.

that was quite the undertaking for the first time. nice flow and story. good job.

from the technical side you're short a syllable or two here and there, but overall an impressive entrance into the realm of haiku/senryu.

looking forward to more.
