A Boy With A Gorilla Tattoo

A Boy With A Gorilla Tattoo

A Poem by Charles

Some stories are long and complicated
with details that need to be investigated
because the parts don't seem to fit right
up and until you look with the proper light.
A boy with a gorilla tattoo may seem perverse
if you think that his ink there was coerced
by a world that either didn't notice or care
that he was developing a hell of a cold stare.
The jungle is a hard and unforgiving place
where your survival is written upon the face
that you show the feral beasts that stalk
with stealth so as to quickly strike ad hoc.
He came to embrace the fanciful graces
of the kind of hero that can fly places
and can thrash his foes with energy blasts
or whatever would allow him to outlast.
To see the need to be what one need be
for the given moment in time isn't free
but rather much of the time is spent
learning the vicissitudes of the malcontent.
For they only care for what they consume
and they eat with impunity what they presume
but to make a meal of them is his only goal
because it's better than being swallowed whole.

Eat or be eaten. And for most of the sort, the bark is worst than the bite. It could be seen as a way of communicating the turmoil that brews within. TFS.
