Flowers are one of the most popular things to give to your family and friends. Since the Middle Ages and predominantly the Victorian era, giving flowers had been used as a way to express emotions and up to now it's still the norm of gift giving.

Most people prefer to send roses because aside from the fact that it is very elegant and stylish, it can also suit to any event or celebration according to the variety of flowers given. During Christmas and Valentine's Day, red and Christmas flowers are very in demand. You may not know this, but each variety of flowers transcends a specific meaning. You definitely and obviously know that red roses mean love, but you may not know that a Calla Lily symbolizes magnificence and beauty. So, the next time you plan to deliver flowers as a gift, take some time to know their meanings and here's a quick guide on how to give the gift of flowers:

  1. Consider the event or occasion for which you're going to give flowers. Provide your florist with the event or occasion details that will help him or her determine the types of flowers to use and the appropriate arrangement. There are specific flower arrangements that cater to certain occasion or events. For example, it's preferable to give a bouquet to someone who is celebrating his graduation or a basket of flowers to someone who has a new home. If you are going to hire an Online florist it would be better if you send him or her a picture of your desired flower arrangement to make the process more convenient.
  2. Make sure that the flowers delivered are fresh to make sure that they are wilt-free from the time you give them.
  3. Remember to enclose a written personal note. There's nothing more precious than a sincere congratulation or a sweet "I Love You".

Flowers are indeed the sweetest and thoughtful forms of gifts. They convey emotions and its smell provides a fresh zest in life. Send flowers to your family and friends and make them feel appreciated and loved. Just remember to give fresh and live ones; plastic flowers are a big NO NO!
