The ANZAC's

The ANZAC's

A Poem by charlie
"

blood thirst

"

... as the sheep and goats file from the stock ships,

that their blood may wet the dust bed of another far off nation,

we ought lament with pride what valiant heroes died

for our freedom to repulse this continued ruination

with falafel: and pay hummus ...

Author's Note

charlie
a lot of conscripts were victims, not heroes: and heroism via celebretisation can not be afforded the cheap chance to 'gold-leaf' a government's butchery.

So many left ,so few returned, couldn't imagine today's youth upping sticks to lay down their lives,to busy slaughtering on their computers.I have posted a few poems on WW1,but in simple rhyming style.Enjoyed the read

Thank you for taking the time here, Gee
War is every government's butchery. One day they'll get it right - BOOM! and then .. then there'll be no need for anything but that single Ministry.

Your words express more than any tears..

Interesting piece. Again written in an intelligent way. Your words make one ponder which reflects talent in writing. I like the comparisons though a tad cruel and blood-stained but effective in picturing/intensifying your message/intention.

(And I'm into falafel ^^)

That's great :)
You're so right. They were victims, led like so many sheep and goats.
This is a striking poem. It's refreshing to get a slightly different slant on the ANZACs.
Couldn't wait til the 26th to post it ? ;) jk.
