A Poem by charlie
"

and impressionable young women

"

Through to shady tomes, there the glowing creep

Dislocates his lattice with cool blue strain.

Anneal, sweet lady…            Your glorious pain

enchants his sickness and wrests him from sleep:

                            Sweetest vanilla will reptiles weep:

Avow to keep bright the whitest of flame

that will not falter, nor die in the rain,

but fount without end from reverence deep...

So it is written:          let no lazy thought

rend you as senseless as chalk dusted stone

whenever you need; desire; or moan

in poverty which fills you yet with nought…

Girl, hold your nerve where want may wretched go

Lest dignity and your virtue be bought.

You made a very strong (what needs to be said) work of art out of this...

Thanks, Roma. I just hope it's reached some of the right people so far.
no pig's ear here. You write with purpose, passion and poignancy. Best of all, you know how to make art a memorable personal message that strikes with an impact unexpected. Work that indeed leads my desire for more.

Thank you for saying so, Dean. Appreciated.
The structure and layout is sublime. A cleverly poetic treatment of something that's all too often overt. Great work.

Charlie… I am taken by how beautifully you write.. And surprised that I haven’t come across you before, WC must be larger than I thought it to be…
I see this too.. And I worry for the unwary, but I guess that’s what friends are for and why the PM button is so easily reached..
Thank you for writing this in such a beautiful and thoughtful way, a statement within the sentiment, yes this is for poetry..

I enjoyed this sonnet as well as its sentiment. I'd have to say my favorite line is "Sweetest vanilla will reptiles weep." It evoked jarring imagery. Just the kind I like!

yes, this is a poetry site, no place for predators...they seem to misspell "poetry" to "pornetry"

i guess it is like real life, even if it is on a website in cyberspace...
we befriend for the wrong reasons....use the treachery of feigning friendship.
