ice dreamsA Poem by charismaleeLooking over my shoulder as the cold air hit my flesh You can do it baby I hear my grandmother call to me As it hit the ice I did one precise stroke Gliding across this glistening pearl The sun reflecting off the ice on to my eye Don’t look down, don’t look down I picked my head up leaning in and out Dipping low and slow, FASTER! Creating my own wind using force that I never knew that I had with in Twirling faster than I ever could Going through my routine my heart pounded harder than my blade hitting the ice Spinning in and out of turns Jumping in and out of jumps One wrong stroke and I tumbled Falling harder than I thought I would My surroundings blacken I lay as if I am lifeless Get back up Grabbing hold of the ice pulling myself up with tremendous mite I slid my left foot under the right as I built up this turn Will I make it or will I crash again? I lean in arms wide pulling in everything around me I clutch myself giving myself incredible force Slowing, slowing, come out! I lift my leg slowly as I twirl to a stop Ah! I did it! I lean forward right hand over my head and my left hand raised in front of me Cheers erupted from the crowd My tears flowed down my face Again the sun reflected off the ice onto my face Don’t look down this is your moment Tears still flowing © 2009 charismaleeReviews
