Love Still Unspoken

Love Still Unspoken

A Poem by Chiquita

Laughter is spoken
Openly, without reservation.
Varieties of conversation are
Engaged in, no worries of rejection.

Still there is no
Telling of loves tale.
It remains unspoken.
Lies are said in it’s place,
Lies told with no words.

Unspoken love, a resounding untruth.
Not a word is uttered to
Speak of my deepest secret.
Pondered moment to moment,
Only whispered in my heart,
Kept in the secrets of silence.
Every utterance of nothing is a bold face lie.
No lie speaks as loudly as my unspoken truth.

I have lied to my beloved.  I have betrayed my own heart.
May my delayed words speak loud enough to un-tell my lies.

Amen. It just felt like it needed an Amen, or So Be It! at the end. : )
I hear you loud and clear, and totally agree with the sentiment.

so good,
I hate that everytime I look into his eyes i cant find the voice, the courage to say thoose words. Maybe sometimes we have to do things, even though we face rejection, who knows, maybe he'll say I love you back. You'll never know untill you try, because if you dont, the weight of your heavy heart will soon crush what spirit you have left.

Too often we fear rejection and as a result we hurt ourselves by not taking a chance at perhaps finding love. I really liked this honest look at a lie that is a lie because of love not proclaimed. Very good write :)

This is beautiful. My favorite lines were "No lie speaks louder than my unspoken truth" and "May my delayed words speak loud enough to un-tell my lies". The entire poem was absolutely beautiful and completely honest. I've never thought of this, but now that I'm thinking about it, it makes me think a lot. Thank you for sending me the read request. Sometimes I get a little behind on who's written what and I'm glad I got the chance to read this.
