Inflicted

Inflicted

A Poem by Brian Custer

Inflicted

Brian Custer

Water falls down upon her

Rats in the gutter

Walking along side you

Can’t seem to bother

Cause she’s addicted

Can’t get enough, no

Cause she’s addicted

Won’t turn it off, no

Falling down inside her

Dreams are forgotten

Crying on your shoulder

Once was a mother

Cause she’s addicted

Just doesn’t stop, no

Cause she’s addicted

And doesn’t know the word – NO

Trash blowing around circles

Bugs crawling on her skin

Lying there motionless

She just took one more hit
