A Poem by Brian Custer

Pool

Brian Custer

Shimmer cold waters

Unbridled, untouched, forgotten

Dive into the deep

Any given Sunday

Brian Custer

Redbirds used to falter

Regret losing; no longer

One more win and in

Memory

Brian Custer

Fell prey to love lost

Stiffened heart, alone, no blood

No longer, says she

Eternity

 Brian Custer

Infinite blackness

Dark skies bristling with light

Distinguished souls forever there

Forgotten

Brian Custer

Walk into the woods

Creating a trail untouched

Forgetting her rose

A hold

Brian Custer

Distances seen from here

I reach towards them, the stars

Forever grasping

Lush

Brian Custer

Tranquil lips, serene

Decadence bought, not seen with me

I wish for one more

The End

Brian Custer

Standing in line, miles

It seems so close, it is that

How far ‘til it ends

Thirst

Brian Custer

Depraving leafs’ dew

Quenching the thirst from a drop

That falls to the ground

Subzero

Brian Custer

December winds chill

Beloved cold, I want more

Frozen until thaw
