Eyes WIDE ShutA Poem by Brian CusterTwenty-First century; eyes still closed science-fiction technology; animals being cloned working with NANO so small, do they even know? Still just not enough (for them) they need more cause life's too rough the victims cry, cry out in vain, believe me (when I say) you know not of pain! A kid is crying, has lost his leg, from bombs exploding (in the Sudan) mothers weeping, hostages taken, is it her daughter; or his son?
I'm still waiting wondering, why kids are being killed for someone else's - GOD? Machines on Mars, continually reaching (for the stars) billions spent, no comparison to the people; of Darfur Al Qaida this - Osama that, bullshit GW, suck on my fat!
I am one (you are two) let’s emulate something; real, Stop their crying, diffuse their bombs, let’s transfix some love into this hatred; (being born) Deciders say, “well, they have to pay” but, the price; you see will be our unborn future’s bloody days If that was then and this is now, well tomorrow just; may never be I'm biting my lip pretending (this will be heard) trying to fathom why, are we acting so absurd? Today is dying; at the cost of (tomorrow) and tomorrow will never wonder why their day didn't come! © 2009 Brian CusterAuthor's Note
