The saddest story I’d ever heard
Came from a man in a child’s word
Of how the world had done him wrong
And converted his voice to a deadly song
A world so evil, harsh, and cruel
To crush the hopes and dreams of that big hearted fool
Raised on fists and leather straps
It hadn’t taken long for him to snap
Because never did his parents care to realize
The kind of hell they instilled behind those blue eyes
They say ‘wide is the road to hell’
And this fact, he learned it well
Dragging others along with him
He’d convince everyone to join in
On violence and petty crime
Or drug mule-ing to pass the time
And all the warnings fell on deaf ears
From parents, siblings, teachers, and peers
For they chose not to realize
The hell that lay behind that devil’s blue eyes
The Leader of the pack with none to intervene
He dug for his humanity at age thirteen
With a needle so cold and dire
But merely added fuel to his fire
In those next years he stole and dealt
All the hopelessness, anger, and pain he felt
Because all those blinded by the bright city lights
And long sleepless nights
Never had a chance to realize
The hell that lay behind that devil’s cold blue eyes
Retribution the world demands
He went to prison and came back with blood stained hands
Now covered in scars from head to toe
He’s been hurt in every way a man could know
Meaner and tougher than he was before
He looked for any reason to settle a score
Never has he given the chance to realize
The hell that lay behind that devil’s cold blue eyes
Weary of the world he created for himself
He fell in love with something else
A woman with kids in a hell of their own
He makes everything better and builds them a home
Eventually he chases their demons away
And builds a brighter future for them every day
The drugs and violence has taken their toll
The now repented fights to save his soul
And to this day no one does realize
All the hell that lays beneath my handsome devil’s
pale blue eyes....
