![]() Painted blackA Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley
The screeching, screaming, and grinding of my universe
comes to an abrupt halt inside your eyes... The hate, dread, and malice of your truth, are drowned out by all of my lies. For if I am you and you are me, than there is one thing for which I am sure... We are two whole halves of nothing, so together we equal nothing more. A hole that transcends space and time opens up inside my chest. It pulls you in and tears you apart... and then spits you out among the rest. The rest of my regrets create a mountain, that shames the Everest name. Each and everyone a little different... but they all still look the same. They are all painted black now, and they no longer shine. The uniformity helps to assure me, that they are still mine. The screeching, screaming, and grinding of my universe, finally starts back up again... polluting and putting out far more, than what it is taking in. My ears a deafened by the noise, my sight obstructed by the smoke... the feeling dulled by the vibrations, and I am far to gone to cope... but for once I am thankful, that I am to blind to seek... the dark and twisted trail, that leads to my mountains peak. © 2014 Jessica Lynn PolleyReviews
