Soulless

Soulless

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

Someone saw the red red rain,
and someone saw the soulless fall.
Someone saw the earth break open...
someone saw it all.
Someone heard the angel cry,
and someone felt them break.
Someone held the angels eye
just like someone kissed the angels sweet ache.
Someone held the angels hand
and screamed out in no kind of pain
Someone felt the angels breath,
while no one tried to refrain.

The angel lusted for that
which he could not be.
Quite an inspiring notion...
to be more like he.
To forsake heaven
for the flesh oh so sweet.
The angel wanted only for that
which he could never be.

A sin I understand,
A sin I don't condemn.
A sin that only the soulless...
could ever commit again.
Sweet... sweet... angel
How I would love to help you down.
Go to hell for me?
Where the soulless are now found
