StormA Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley
A viscous tide of a magical storm, crashes upon my shore...
promising me an electric current that I have never felt before. With winds that destroy cities and thunder that redefines, I stand in the midst of chaos still strong with my head held high. I believe in an alternate ending one I can not quite portray. I believe in the fairy tails of yesteryear's but I do not believe it today. With the corruption of the rain that pelts against my skin, a maddening force I can not fathom, makes it all so hard to resist. I can not seek a solemn shelter, I do not seek the bliss of ignorance... even when it is all so overwhelming I still appreciate what it is. My apprehensions have all but doubled and yet I still can not look away, from the fire in the sky that screams at me to stay. Stay and see the destruction, can you understand what it is all worth? Stay and see the molestation of everything that you were. A deafening sound from the sky and then bodies fall one my one Like a wave of defeat as we all crash into the sun. The fire cleanses the broken and through the ashes we are all reborn... as the viscous tide of a magical storm, crashes upon my shore. © 2014 Jessica Lynn Polley |
