Freak ShowA Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley
Please can we stop the sideshow...
I need your attention right now. We have a rogue circus act, in which I am very proud. So focus your attention... now to center stage, ladies and gentlemen may I present to you... the Freak Show parade. So many, so many hearts are pounding... and I can hear every one. Will you all just shut the hell up please, the Freak Show has begun. I come from a place so far away, and I lost my mind there... so I am going to borrow yours, just for today... and I hope that you don't care. Picture yourself now... your standing on a cloud... breathing with the sky... Oh, I bet that you could fly. Jump into the air Oops, no flying here. Picture yourself now, now you're bleeding on the ground. I will fill your head, with all of my thoughts. You will dream my dreams, but you will not wake up. You will feel my pain, for every time you laughed and stared. Beware of me the Freak Show, because my turn is here.
