Beautiful Madness

Beautiful Madness

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

Falling through hues of blue and black
I am calling out to you
My screams silenced by your words
Do you see what you put me through?
An ache that swells inside my chest
threatening to swallow me whole
with the chitter chatter of the beasts
begging me to let him go.
My heart races so very fast
as I try to get away
from the shadows in my head
that are begging him to stay.
Dripping with insecurities
they tell me I am beautiful when I burn
Step into the fire now child
Let the rage consume the hurt.
Through angry words I cheer for you
Go on boy stand strong!
Mock the broken and the weak
tell me you knew it all along!
Screaming sirens pierce my ears
and the beautiful voices sing
Listen to the evil choir
let the voices ring.
Step into the fire now child
and I will take you home...
To mess with all the madness
my look at how you have grown.
Sleep with me and my delusion
as I tare away the burnt flesh
To reveal a beautiful agony
to he who knows us best...
