Slam!

Slam!

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

How very sad...
she is broken.
How redundant...
the words left unspoken.

Are you shaken?
While the grief thunders inside of you!
Did you FEEL her breaking?

How many more times...
will you sit and watch?
As the howling hungry world tears her apart.

Is this really what you are?
Did you feel no regret...
watching it play over and over and over again,
the part that you knew best.

She was beautiful
before YOU came...
She gathered SERENITY around her,
like puddles to the rain.

You are a MONSTER
Cant you see?
Cant you feel...me?

I used to be that girl
but now look at what I am!
Unfolded, flattened, spread thin again and again and AGAIN!

Let the lightning strike me!
Let me sizzle to the core!
Let it consume me!
I want to BE the storm!

Rain clouds and whirlwinds
Water that cuts me DEEP.
I was once a peace you and you were once a peace of me...

I say this not lightly...
there is no light.
I say this while FIGHTING.
JUST ONE MORE FIGHT!

SLAM ME...
DEMAND OF ME....
COMMAND ME.....
For crying out loud just DO NOT abandon me!

This is up there with your poem "Rage".
Missing apostrophes in "cant"

Why are certain phrases double underlined and green?

Favorite Line: I want to be the storm
Least favorite line: like puddles to the rain - I liked the concept, but the phrasing felt a bit of and the double analogy was distracting.
