Predator

Predator

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

There is a predator in the shadows,
a man with a need,
a heart with a false tick...
a growing sickly greed.
There is a predator in the shadows
a man on the hunt
he may be quite sketchy
but he knows what he wants.
There is a sick in your soul
where the predator resides,
making himself comfy...
safe and warm deep inside.
You look at me and smile
with predatory eyes...
I can see him in you
strong, ready, and alive.
Its a darkness that is in you
chewing on your soul
with a crunch crunch crunch
that is sure to take its toll.
You are not privy to your demons,
as you blink the thought away...
but only thought has left
he is there to to stay.
I can not fight your battles
I can only watch you break
crumble into the madness
of your sad and twisted fate.
There is a sick in your soul
and I do not what to do.
I would help if I could
but I have my demons to.
Please do not under estimate him,
he has so much of you...
twisting in his hands,
as he wears you like a suit.
There is a predator in the shadows...
and it has gotten so dark here
I can not see you anymore!
This is the part that I feared.
There is a predator in the shadows...
a man with a need...
to take you away,
somewhere far away from me.
