Unspoken

Unspoken

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

A quaint yourself with clarity...
When you look into the lies.
Shake hands with misconceptions,
and half heartened tries.
Kiss only angels...
perfections has no soul.
Heed the warning of thy God,
that whispers words unknown.

This is real and it is broken.
I am strong and I am flawed.
I spoke with my Azazel,
and he told me of his fall.
His consummation of carnage.
Buried beneath the mountain he made...
the pact the led to his only
connection to the grave.

I ascended from mount Hermon
and traveled West to Mount Senai.
I saw the burning cities
swallowed by the lightning in the sky
I watched the earth crack open
and consume Babylon almost whole,
with only a third of the tower left
to remind us it is not our choice to go.

This is real and it is broken.
I am strong and I am flawed.
I spoke with my Samyazza,
and he told me of his fall.
His indulgence with beauty,
when he tuned his back on the most high.
You know he burned for the flesh so badly,
He did not see the fire in the sky.

His temperaments are so fickle,
that is our likeness to him.
Our ability to choose...
not our affinity to sin.
The hands of man have crippled...
the only truth that I know.
His words have been twisted,
for the bible tell me so.

This is real and it is broken.
I am strong and I am flawed.
I spoke with my Armaros,
and he told me of his fall.
His choice to leave heaven...
and spill its secrets onto the earth,
like how to read the stars,
the weight of lies...
and what they are worth.

The evil spirits that are here today,
are the same Giants that he has slain.
Of this earth they were created...
on this earth they shall remain.

I like how one can relate to this personally and metaphysically...the allusions to myth is very interesting.

I am glad you can see the relevance still portrayed. I find it tragic and beautiful that angels fell.. read more
