If I Were a Girl...A Poem by Steven CashI feel this is like a cross between Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" and Bruno Mars "Just the Way You Are". If I were a
girl, I’d love myself, despite what the guys may say I would
look in the mirror and see myself"beautiful in my own way If I were a
girl I’d not live and die by the love of a guy If he can’t
love me for who I am, then sorry, it’s goodbye If I were a
girl I’d take my hair and style it as I choose It doesn’t
have to be long and flowing, like women in the news If I were a
girl I’d know my clothes don’t have to come from Abbie and Fitch I don’t
have to be with the in crowd, who’d leave me in a ditch If I were a
girl I’d not sell myself cheap just cause a guy says I’m cute And if he
only wants sex from me, I’d simply give him the boot If I were a
girl I’d show the world I don’t have to be rail thin I don’t have
to heave my lunch so I can just fit in But because
I’m not a girl I can only tell you how I feel as a guy Cause
girls, you are precious. Don’t ever think that’s a lie I don’t care
how you look, what you have done or do I believe
you are precious Just
because you are you © 2012 Steven CashAuthor's Note
