The insanely stupid incident that prompted that smile!

Look at the glint in your eyes…

The way your lips widened…

It seemed it last forever…the moment

Did you ever think?

You’d grow up to be like this?

Did you ever think that the smile would fade away?

Did you ever think that the smile would hide…

Sadness that engulfed your soul?

The pain that still haunts you?

That it would bury memories beneath others?

You wish to go back to that age…don’t you?

Was much easier back then?

It happens to us all…doesn’t it?

We all lose our smiles…only to find them back again?

Oh you are smiling again?

If only the poet wrote in first person…Sigh!
