The lunaticA Poem by Chandradhish GhoshThe lunatic walked alone He questioned himself, He asked questions that no one ever did “Would I burn the newspaper today?” “Would I crawl under the bed and look for the unknown?” “Would I put my hand through the hole and catch the mouse?” The lunatic slept alone He talked to himself, He talked of things that no one ever did “If I die, so will all the lives inside me.” “I failed to count the hair on my head again.” “I’ll sleep with my eyes open today.” The lunatic ate alone He listened to himself, He heard things that no one ever did, “I hear a fire every time I cover my ear with my finger” “The sound fades if you itch away from your ear.” “I wonder what makes the sound every time I gulp!” The lunatic did not play alone He loved to play with everyone He played games that everyone played, “You will not believe if I tell you that I am mad” “You will also not believe that I only tell the truth” “What you see is my mask…not me.” © 2014 Chandradhish GhoshFeatured Review
