Without you

Without you

A Poem by Champagne
"

Withdrawal symptoms - sometimes there may be so much that there are none

"
On the park-bench
your face half-turned
    he kisses on your neck

a casual passerby would insist you were lovers

On the swing
little children
feet high up in the air

My tango stops
perfect dancing would not be for tonight

Recollections

Two leashed dogs
sniff the ground
while
you extend your neck
the old lady
whose silent face
kissed so many times
   doesn't care

inside
words float
on unwashed dishes you touched
the dishwasher
   doesn't care

elevators
box in
my ride is smooth
up or down
sometimes
do not care

Oh this is a very crafty reply to the topic - sometimes we miss things so much that we can't miss them any longer, becoming burnt out and disassociated. Brilliant set of images, my favourite (I think) is:

Two leashed dogs
sniff the ground
while
you extend your neck
the old lady
whose silent face
kissed so many times
doesn't care...

...But the first is also a monumental statement.

I couldn't add more to what Kerry stated, so I'll just say that I found this a moving write and a great piece for the prompt!

I found the final verse to have great impact. "...my ride is smooth/ up or down/ sometimes/ I/ do not care." It is a strong and telling statement.
