SyntheticsA Poem by ChadvonswanArtificially Loving Life
My dead eyes see the truth
Even though all light is blind The pale darkness can soothe Searching for a sun to shine Neurons in the cerebral tunnel swim Through your spine and out your head The light inside is gradually growing dim I think we might be the sleeping dead Plastic synthetics serve as a substitute For the lips that which you kissed And the melodies produced by your flute Will be artificially, eternally missed Your tongue is now a dead fish Scales that no longer reflect or glow The water in your mouth swish and swish The swallowed teeth drown in your blood flow We both wake simultaneously And see each other artificially Through robotic eyes that record And a computerized soul we can't afford Screws in our heads Bolts in our rear I'd rather be dead If I cannot fear But yet we are alive And will mechanically thrive As long as the battery in our heart Is turned off and will never start
