magnum opusA Poem by Chad Halletoday i found an electric organ that didn't work, it just hummed. i turned it on and pressed the keys but it didn't make a sound, just kept on humming. i played some songs anyway. tonight i'll pass out and sleep through anything. tonight i'll get drunk as hell and write a poem, call it a magnum opus. tomorrow i'll be sick, clammy, sleeping, puking, sweating, silent, nowhere. tomorrow i'll be peeing on the floor, tomorrow i'll be lying on the floor. tomorrow i'll be making up for tonight. tonight i'm not alone, for i'm not together. tonight i'm sun, smothered in a blanket. tonight i see double, tonight i feel triple, tonight i touch... tonight i touch nothing. tonight i heard one of the most beautiful, most moving songs. i listened to it over and over again, but i didn't know the words, so i just hummed. © 2008 Chad HalleReviews
