Inner Power

Inner Power

A Story by Chanel-Rosalee

If you were to be graced with any power you wish, what would it be?

"Once blind, but now I see"-Amazing Grace

Day by day, we walk around, going through the motions of life. We live in a time where we are programmed-programmed to live. Yet, are we really living? Yes, it is one thing to breathe, move, talk, and feel. However, it is another thing to experience life the way it was meant to. I feel as if we walk around blind-blind to our surroundings and inner feelings. So if I were to be graced with such a gift, so powerful it could change life as we know it...I would choose the gift of sight.

Okay, I know what you're thinking, is this girl insane? My answer to your question is no, I am sane (at least I hope so). When I am talking about the gift of sight, I am not talking about the gift humans are already graced with. I am talking about sight in it's different form. A form that could change the way we see the world.
Not only do I want people to see all the amazing things that surround us everyday that we tend to miss, but I  want them to see more then the physical things. I want people to open their eyes and see pain, happiness, regret, love, and all the emotional perks of being human. We need to see these emotions at their purest. This way we can truly see, truly live.

Whether the emotions be good or bad, we need to see them. This way we can take our wrongs and turn them into rights. If we can see emotions no one would be alone, no one could cover up their pain. We could all see one another's feelings and have a better understanding of each other. We humans are blind-blind in the sense of looking but not seeing.

The song 'Amazing Grace' is one of my favourite songs because of it's famous line "Once blind, but now I see." We live our lives not seeing the truth. If only we opened our eyes, we could open up our hearts, ourselves, and then we would see. We would see the missing pieces to finally finish this puzzle we call Earth. The world is so broken today because we are not seeing the missing pieces. The world is an unfinished puzzle. It is our job to finish it. We were given all the right tools to solve this puzzle. However, we've forgotten how to use them. We forgot how to see.

Humans were given the gift of sight to see this beautiful world. Unfortunately, we have taken this gift and twisted it to only see what we choose to see. The power of sight is an amazing thing. Sadly, we have taken it for granted. I want to open the eyes of the world, to change the way people see this ugly, but beautiful world. To see the truth behind every lie, pain behind every tear, and sorrow behind every heart break. I wish to uncover the secrets of this masked world.

We live in a world were people walk around with their heads down, racing to be somewhere, when they are missing the life around them. If they would only look up and see! They need to just see! Open their eyes and stop living in the dark. We humans are on auto-pilot, living day by day, seeing the same things, trapped inside an unseen world. If only we look up, open our eyes, and embrace the world around us. We would finally see the big picture.

I see the world as a canvas; always rotating, changing each day. Yet, we never notice the changes. We need to be like artists. We need to take a step back from our canvas, and look at the bigger picture. Once we do, we will notice the changes, be able to fill in the missing pieces, and finally make sense of it all.
