Your Cologne

Your Cologne

A Poem by Tenten

He's wearing your cologne
it lingers in the air
a powerful reminder
of past and memory
there’s a hate flooding these veins
a smile and tears flowing too close
to the surface
Denied
not that weak to think
we'll be once again
flowing to the music
passing the scent on
to a new face, an unnamed man
still too young
but he can be the boy that wears
a scent I try to change
inspiring images of screens and white hats
instead of your words
your voice
your smile
those blacks shirts
that black shirt sitting in the laundry
not with me, this time
but still...
he's wearing your cologne
and i fake not missing
that shade of you
that engraved into hearts
