this will not be my surrender

this will not by my loss

                to love

                to like

                to that tired consuming lust

                to the hatred of half empty beds

this will be my defiance

                to the reminders that come

                in sunny mornings

                and cold snow falling nights

this will be my written stance

                to ignore fates offered lies

                her passes at a substitution

                to find a life the flows pretty

                and losing myself in a time

                that never matches true flow

this is my shout out

                that i will not surrender

                this is my defiance

                to achieving the quality dream

                regardless of social acceptance
