Time Passes

Time Passes

A Poem by Tenten

as time passes our dreams change
to memories of childhood
the desire to never alter
becomes a laughable statement
hometown faces become distant myspace comments
we lose base to a once reality
growing roots in a new community

the friends from now
become the friends from then
a call once a month
a e-mail displaced in now
different roads to take
a new task to become consuming
blossoming and wilting as one

becoming the child they don't know
becoming the adult they never met
saying goodbye to childhood friends
slightly resenting the truth...cold fact
we all change as our settings modify
