Parted Ways

Parted Ways

A Poem by Tenten

so we parted ways in angry words
with murmured apologies
mixed through the course
and i'm sorry's shouted high
though we meant them low in voice

the days go by
thoughts focus on the past
on his smile
that will not be for I again
and I move on my words this time
more for the past
that solely for him

saying goodbye has never felt
so cruel, so peaceful
in the slow steps
meant to hurt but wounds clean enough
to heal beyond the final departure
allow this spirit to grow
