Wings

Wings

A Poem by Tenten

A gift from the spirits
A promise for the future
This morning they gave me back my wings
Let the healing begin
Starting from scratch they grow anew
Over the scars of burning sin
They wash away the shame
From the time back then
This is my gift
These wings anew, a chance to sore
A promise to change
From the damaged child held so close
Within the confines of my soul
A gift from the spirits
My wings are back
This lifetime didn't break me
Not now, not yet, I'll be strong
This weak person that I am
