Watermelon Memories

Watermelon Memories

A Poem by Tenten

The sweet taste of watermelon
On hot summer nights
Brings a smile of memories
For tired eyes
And stuffed face
Of grandpa and running through the fields
Of cricket choirs surrounding the air
Of a time when nightmares couldn't reach

The sweet taste of watermelon
Soft and full on lips
Pulling at soul strings
Can create tears
But heads for smiles
Of the past I hold dear to me
