Childish desires

Childish desires

A Poem by Tenten

The dreams of yesterday
Felt so real
I put face in there happening
Losing myself in a place
Far from reality
Away from the expectations held
By family and friends
By statistics and society
I believed the world would be
Better than anticipated with a smile
Protecting myself all the while
From the sorrow that exists
Just outside this bedroom door
The dreams of yesterday
Felt so real
In today’s morning light
I see the fault in living for such
Childish desires
