Letting You Sleep

Letting You Sleep

A Poem by Tenten
"

for my loved ones lost

"

I want you to sleep in peace now
It took me a long time to understand
A greater length to accept
That you weren’t meant for this physical eternity
I’m hoping you are resting
Beyond that wooden boxes
Beneath the earth and flowers
I’m hoping that you’re smiling
At all of us here below, seeing
That no matter what we love you
I want you to sleep in peace now
I think pretty soon
I’ll be ready for that ‘goodbye’
I couldn’t say those years ago
And those passing weeks from now
Just a bit more time
Then I’ll try my hardest
To let you sleep, my smile with you
Not this condemnation of the past
Just remember, I will always
Love you
