Would You Be Here?/Mommy I need You

A Poem by Tenten

Would you be here
For Her
The moment she needs you
The moment she calls
Says that world
You haven't heard from her lips
In so many years
   That the voice she uses
Has faded from your memory
The moment she utters
'Mommy I need you'
Will you be here for her
Will you pick up your phone
Will you listen to her cry
Or will you
Ignore the call
Push it back for the third time
       In a row
Go back to texting your lover
Never thinking
That the next time I call her
That need for you
Has….. morphed to anger
To that feeling of abandoned
……….And I will take your place
In taking her tears as my burden
Holding her in my heart
Tearing away the pain
Because her words will change
      'Sister I fucked up'
With a mocking laughter
Meant for ears not mine
Because you pushed back her call
And miraculously she found me
In that moment of need
