Please Take Care

Please Take Care

A Poem by Tenten

Please take care
Don’t let that harm come
The mantra begins its cycle
The repetition gone from
Late winter, those early spring months
Covered in snow
Repeating over and over
‘I am safe, no one will hurt me here’
…….
‘They will protect me, they will keep me safe’
….
Over and over, the tears threaten
Held tight in black sheets
Prowling tiger covers
In our bed that provides
A cage to block the horror
Of a dream ….nightmare
From then….succeeding to the now

Without an understanding of the harm that might be coming, I'm not as drawn into the mantra as I might be.
