Memory Day

Memory Day

A Poem by Tenten

Memory morning

Inhale

Exhale

Same Scent

Same day?

Memory day

Was it ‘go to the park’

Was it ‘play in the watermelon fields’

Was it ‘run errands with Grandma’

Was it ‘a few hours at the fair’

A day of the past

Colliding to the present

Momentary reminder for this spirit

The child from then still exists

Beneath altered form

Just as the people from that time

Exist beyond the wrinkles and earth covered boxes

Memory day
