The Lady & The Lord

The Lady & The Lord

A Poem by Tenten

For a long time I believed I was

Shame Burden Useless

I was saved

by

The Lord

and

The Lady

From uncertain thoughts

Encouraged by years of frigid statements

Given       lovers, brothers, sisters,

                friends, loves, consorts,

                companions, confidants, consultants

A make shift family

A litany of truth

That burned the fear too sooth darkened flesh

For uncountable moon rises and sun sets

Tick tocks, click clacks, screen door slams, snapping locks

Defined who I am…who she was

Led to paper, pen to flesh, paint to canvas

A mixing of media to aid definition

Helpful breaths of care seated to bare flesh

Realization found by way of

                The Lord

                and

                The Lady

Demolition of the ruins and

Rebirth of core essence

Forgiving haunting tendrilled ghosts of

Of this lifetimes early lies
