I saw herA Poem by Tentenexpressing my inner child
I saw her, I caught a glimpse of her The woman I knew from back then My mother I saw her, I caught a glimpse of her The woman I knew from back then She was strong she was honest She was warm she was true She was my mother . . . for a moment I saw her, I caught a glimpse of her And then the phone rang And I watched, I saw her fade away To the woman who knows only my face Who calls her children second place But I saw her it was real She was real And it is so unfair to tease me With a glimpse of who she no longer is With who she can no longer be But I saw her and it made me so happy And I felt so blessed to be with her To be in her sight To be something to her I felt blessed to have her with me For just a moment she was ‘mommy’ Then the phone rang and she was stolen away By a cheating lover Who dims her light her honesty her beauty But for just a moment I….. I saw her, I caught a glimpse of her The women I knew from back then And I wanted to say don’t go away mommy But a lovers ring ripped her out of these hands
