Fell In Love with a Dream

I fell in love a long time ago

With a dream of a woman I’ve never known
not in this life time
But other souls come to still my mind away
From that evaporating dream of beauty
The glistening eyes of onyx life
Parted lips devoid of lies
I wonder silently these nights

Am I relieving her of duty?

Or she taking of my leash
Because, for a long while
only her truth was known to me
only my pain she understood
I fell in love when I was a child

with the woman of my dreams
Now I’m left to ponder
Does she finally release me
To some other’s heart
